Emotionally intelligent Signs
I’m a Plaxo member and just tried to log in today with this sign. I had to laugh, just brilliant considering my post on Saturday.
The Uneasy relationship between TV and Tech
This is 30mins from Peter Hirshberg the founder of Technorati. Watch the first 5 mins when – he interviews the next next generation who without hesitation proclaim the internet as their preferred media
- highlights how TV industry 40 years on are astonished by the computer industries messianic movement
- how to Time Warner mastered the art of applying “moore’s law” on successive miniturization to their balance sheet. This is great!
The infuriation of Music and iTunes in Asia – (I know it’s all the labels’ fault)
I get that labels don’t want their content stolen and that they want to make money from it but have you ever considered that the ridiculously high piracy figures from Asia may also arise from the inability to access digital music easily or even legally?
I want to buy music, I will pay for it, I love my new iPhone and want to cram it full of NEW music and was looking forward to doing just that but can I? Like hell I can. iTunes won’t even consider me as I’m in Hong Kong, drives me to distraction. I have no interest in going into a shop and buying a whole album and when I tried the Hutchison 3 site (twice), given that they are the only iPhone provider in town, it was the only time that my iPhone has crashed – how about that for customer service!
My otherwise great iPhone experience has been damaged enormously by the labels making it nigh on impossible to do with it what I could do if I was in most other developed countries.
LET ME BUY MUSIC, YOU FREAKS. No wonder people steal it.
iPhone and Franklin Covey Plan Plus
I’ve been a fan on Franklin Covey since my husband went on a course and came home raving about it. Unfortunately he stopped using his massive binder but, as a technophile, it was a hardly a surprise but the concept of setting goals and breaking them down into prioritized tasks struck home – well, with me anyway.
I’m a project manager by training and my own boss and, as such, am a complete pain about trying to get all my ducks in a row but I’m also in the technology space so I wanted to find something that would fit into my lifestyle. You’d hardly know it to look at the Franklin Covey site because they must still sell so much of the off line “stuff” but they actually have some good online products that even a quasi-geek like me can master.
To date, I have been using the plug-in that allows me to integrate the FC planning tools into my Outlook and I thought that that was cool. BUT I’m just about to get a new iPhone (Apple has finally acknowledged that those of us in Asia might like one too) and I am totally overexcited that I’m going to be able to synch it with Plan Plus too. Just think, I can be just as uptight out of the office as I am in it. Yeehaa!
Watch this space, I’m planning to get to grips with Plan Plus on my iphone next week and will then bore everyone rigid about how it is changing my world – positive thinking. Of course, I’ll also be happy to tell you if it sucks – FC Plan Plus that is because I couldn’t admit to not liking the iPhone so soon, having been clamouring for it for so long.
Let me know if you notice a difference;)

Firefox Mobile
With July 11th and the launch in Hong Kong of the 3G iPhone I have been flexing my fingers ready to enjoy a mobile experience for a change.
Add this to this Firefox mobile concept video and am now completely overexcited. This is great idea and makes surfing on the internet using mobile a much more realistic option and one that is actually worth running up some data charges.
Happy to be guinea pig for this one if you’re looking for people fed up with surfing on mobile because “Trying to type on mobile is like trying to remove a contact lens with a cotton ball” as described by Aza Raskin.
